ORE 23.30 : THE REAL MOTHER FUNKERS IN CONCERTO

Band toscana formatasi nel Febbraio 2011 con una particolarità: la formazione è quasi completamente femminile, fatta eccezione per il chitarrista Davide.

Ispirati dalle Family Band dei ’70 che mischiavano uomini e donne, fratelli e sorelle (il chitarrista e la batterista sono appunto fratelli), bianchi e neri. Sono ragazzi che provengono dalle più disparate esperienze musicali e, pur essendo molto giovani, hanno comunque un grande e profondo amore, quello per la Black Music,il Soul ed il Funky.
Diversamente da molte band del genere, The Real Mother Funkers non hanno i fiati all’interno della loro line-up, e caratteristico del loro suono è il Fender Rhodes, strumento molto caro a svariate formazioni del periodo.
Curtis Mayfield, The Isley Brothers, Sly & The Family Stone, The Blackbyrds, Kool & The Gang e molti altri, sono pane quotidiano per questa band.

Cominciano presto a muoversi nel circuito della black music italiana, partecipando a Luglio 2011 al Porretta Soul Festival e a Settembre 2011 al SuperSound di Faenza, promossi da Funk-in-Italia.
A Settembre 2011 partecipano all’evento benefico Blues Joint Benefit, per le popolazioni alluvionate di Liguria e Toscana, insieme a artisti blues italiani e internazionali, e a Luglio 2012 tornano sul palco del Porretta Soul Festival per la seconda volta, aprendo la manifestazione sul palco principale, e dove presentano il frutto dei loro primi brani inediti.

The Real Mother Funkers is a soul/funk band from Tuscany (Italy) which formed in 2011.
A peculiarity is in the line-up, as it is formed almost by all women. The only exception is made for the guitarist Davide.

The RMF draw their style and inspiration from the family bands of the 70s, which featured in their act men and women, brothers and sisters (the guitarist and the drummer are brother and sister), black and white people.
All band members come all sorts of different musical backgrounds and, even if very young, are deeply in love with Black Music.
Unlike many other soul/funk bands, The RMF don’t have wind instruments in their act. What makes their sound so characteristic is a Fender Rhodes: an instrument very dear to old time bands.
Heroes and inspiration to the band are Curtis Mayfield, The Isley Brothers, Sly & The Family Stone, The Blackbyrds, Kool & The Gang and many others.

Since formation their escalation has been quite quick. They have participated to the Porretta Soul Festival in July 2011 and the SuperSound di Faenza in September 2011, sponsored by Funk-in-Italy.
In November 2011, together with other Italian and iternational Blues Artists, they participated to the Blues Joint Benefit: an event promoted to help the flood victims of the regions Liguria and Tuscany. In July 2012 the Real Mother Funkers are going to be play again at the Porretta Soul Festival as the opening act on the main stage.
In this occasion they will present their first original songs.
