ORE 23.30 : THE VENKMANS IN CONCERTO

The Venkmans were born in the autumn 2010, in the big musical smithery of Florence, Italy. Five guys, with many previous musical experiences, found themselves together with the clear intent to combine with harmony the energy of brit-rock and the polyhedral atmospheres of EDM. Taken this as a manifesto, in just few rehearsal the band came out with the frst songs that would depict the style of The Venkmans.
Few months afer, The Venkmans began to master the live music scene of Tuscany, collectng tens of gigs and vast success. In January 2011 they record their frst EP, homonymous and self-produced, which they use to present themselves in the band competton “Italia Wave Band 2011”. Thanks to their live momentum, The Venkmans success to win the contest for their area, getting to stand for their region in the internatonal music event “Italia Wave Love Festival 2012”, opening the show for artists like Lou Reed and Verdena.
Aftermath, the band is reduced at four elements, but keeps on riding the stages of festivals and clubs all the way in Italy, gaining always more fans and consensus from audience and critics.
In November 2011 The Venkmans are cited by the league of live clubs “KeepOn” in the list “100% Best Live”, as one of the best revelation band of the year. In the same time, the band went back in studio, to record their first single “(You Know) It’s Sad But True”, out in the subsequent December and followed by the official videoclip.
In July 2012 “Juliet The Disco” is the commercial teaser soundtrack of Arezzo Wave Love Festival 2012. Actually the band is working for the debut album.
Between ’11 and ’12, in collaboration with “Fondazione Arezzo Wave Italia”, The Venkmans joined the project “La Toscana Che Suona”, getting to play several shows from Sicily to France to stand for the musical scene of their city.
Not to far in the future, the band will enter once again the studio to record their first full record. The name of the band is an heart-felt homage to the actor Bill Murray and the movie saga The Ghostbusters.

I Venkmans nascono nell’autunno del 2010 in quella grande fucina musicale che è Firenze. Cinque ragazzi con precedenti musicali sul territorio si ritrovano insieme con il chiaro intento di unire in armonia l’energia del rock inglese con le atmosfere poliedriche della musica elettronica. Con questo programma, già dalle prime prove nascono alcune canzoni che diventeranno il manifesto del gruppo. In pochi mesi, dopo aver consolidato un repertorio originale da suonare dal vivo, i Venkmans si afermano nella scena live toscana collezionando decine di concerti e nel gennaio 2011 registrano il loro primo ep, omonimo e autoprodoto, con il quale si presentano al concorso per gruppi emergenti Italia Wave Band 2011. Grazie alla loro forte carica dal vivo, riescono a vincere le selezioni toscane del concorso riuscendo così a rappresentare la propria regione ad Italia Wave Love Festval 2011 e a suonare allo Stadio Del Mare di Lecce in apertura a Lou Reed e Verdena. Successivamente, il gruppo fiorentino si riduce a quattro elementi, ma continua a percorrere i palchi di festival e locali italiani aumentando il numero dei loro fan e la loro reputazione di animali dal palco. Fra il 2011 e il 2012, in collaborazione con la Fondazione Arezzo Wave Italia, I Venkmans aderiscono al progetto La Toscana Che Suona. Vengono quindi inclusi nella compilaton pubblicata per l’iniziatva per rappresentare la scena musicale di Firenze e ingaggiati per l’occasione in diverse date, dalla Sicilia alla Francia, raccogliendo sempre maggiori successi. Nel novembre 2011 i Venkmans vengono citati dal circuito di locali di musica dal vivo KeepOn nella classifca 100% Best Live come gruppo rivelazione. Nello stesso periodo entrano in studio per registrare il loro primo singolo, “(You Know) It’s Sad But True”, che esce nel successivo dicembre soto accompagnato dal relativo videoclip. Nel luglio 2012 il brano “Juliet The Disco” viene inserito nel Teaser pubblicitario dell’ Arezzo Wave Love Festival 2012. Attualmente, il gruppo è in studio per la realizzazione dell’album d’esordio. Il nome del gruppo è un sentito omaggio all’attore Bill Murray e al film The Ghostbusters.
